Frequently Asked Questions

Where are we located?

We can be found at 55 Beverley Road HU3 1XL Hull. Every appointment is pre-booking only we do not accept walk ins.

What is a welded jewellery?

Imagine wearing a piece of jewellery that feels like a natural extension of your wrist, blending into your daily style. The welding technique ensures a secure and comfortable fit. It is usually claspless for a seamless look, however clasps can be added. Each piece becomes a cherished keepsake.

Will a welded bracelet need to be removed to go through airport security?

Jewellery only triggers metal detectors when it contains magnetic metals. All of our chains are either solid gold, sterling silver or gold filled so you can confidently pass through airport security without any inconvenience.

Will I need to remove my welded jewellery for an MRI scan?

Solid gold or silver does not impact and MRI scan as it is not magnetic. However some medical professionals ask you to remove all jewellery or clothing with metal parts. If your welded jewellery needs to be removed, simply cut the chain at the jump ring or pop in to see us in store. You are then more than welcome to come back to Ask Aurora and have it re welded.

Can a welded bracelet be removed?

Yes, although we love the fact these bracelets are clasp less and are the perfect 'forever' memento, they can be removed with a pair of sharp scissors. We can also add a clasp at any point if you decide to make it removable.

Does it hurt?

Absolutely not. The bracelet is only welded closed. It does not weld to your skin. We use the highest quality machines on the market and the spark that is generated from the machine does not reach high temperatures.

Do you offer other welded jewellery as well as bracelets?

Yes, we also offer anklets and necklaces. If you have a favourite item of jewellery of your own and would like that welding, please do get in touch. We might be able to do this for you.

Can I add a charm to my jewellery?

Yes! At Ask Aurora, we have a charm for every occasion for you to choose from. Some charms we stock might are available on order so please contact us ahead of time to check any specific availability.

Can I return my welded jewellery?

As this is a bespoke, personalised service with made to measure chains, we cannot offer refunds. If you lose your chain we cannot offer a refund. If your chain breaks at the weld point within the first week, contact us and we will re-weld it free of charge.

Is there an age restriction for welded jewellery?

There is no minimum age, however anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. It is a good idea to check with your schools policies regarding wearing jewellery. Clasps can be used as an alternative to a permanent jewellery piece.
